BRAINTREE’S MP says his wife’s treatment is going well after she was diagnosed with cancer.

James Cleverly has delivered a positive update on his wife’s treatment.

Susie was diagnosed with breast cancer at the end of last year with the announcement receiving an outpouring of support.

She is now receiving treatment at the Guy’s Cancer Centre in London.

The 52-year-old Braintree MP took to twitter to share “good news” surrounding Susie’s treatment.

According to Mr Cleverly, Susie is responding well to the treatment, which was reportedly caught early.

Now the cancer is shrinking, and Susie is no longer receiving chemotherapy.

The news came at the same time as the state opening of parliament which Mr Cleverly did not attend to be with his wife.

In a statement, Mr Cleverly said: “I missed the state opening to be with Susie to get her latest cancer results.

“Good news. She’s responding well to treatment, cancer shrinking, no more chemo.

“Still surgery and other treatments, but a big part of the journey completed.

“Thank to the Guy’s team.”
