AMBULANCE crews were called to Halstead following reports of a person collapsing in the town centre.
Paramedics were spotted in the High Street on Friday, May 13.
Emergency services were called at around 4.50pm after receiving reports of a person suffering a cardiac arrest.
Multiple ambulance crews attended, as well as an air ambulance.
However, the East of England Ambulance Service has confirmed the person died at the scene.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 4.49pm on Friday with reports of a person in cardiac arrest in High Street, Halstead.
“Two off-duty paramedics were on scene, and we sent an ambulance, ambulance officer, rapid response vehicle and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance.
“Sadly, despite our best efforts, the person died at the scene.”
