A TRAVELLING auction is coming to the area, where experts will be providing advice on possible valuable items.

Lockdales Auctioneers’ Valuation Roadshow is coming to Halstead next week.

On the day, there will be experts providing advice on collectables such as coins, stamps, jewellery, vintage toys, comics and many other types of antiques.

No appointment is necessary at the event, and attendees can just turn up on the day.

‘Buzzers’ are issued to call you when an expert is available, and valuations will be provided free of charge, with no obligation to sell.

A spokesman said: “Over the years we’ve turned up some amazing items at our events.

“We have been and may still be the British record holders for a Rolex Submariner wristwatch sold at auction, having sold an example made in about 1964 with orange numerals for just under £280,000, including premium.

“Other famous watches we have auctioned include a Rolex Explorer from Sir Edmund Hillary’s Mount Everest expedition.

The event is on Wednesday, May 18, from 11am to 3pm, with last entry at 2.30pm, at Halstead Town Football Club.
