A TRIO of photographers have teamed up to raise money for charity and support the Ukrainian crisis.

Danny Kench, Dmitrij Dimek and Jon Allard all took special Ukraine-themed lightshow photos and are now selling them to raise money to help the country.

Danny, from Halstead, has been running his own photography business in the town for five years.

He said: “I really enjoy getting out with the camera and I also have a passion for astrophotography.

“I run light painting workshops on a monthly basis with Jon and we have great fun.

“I enjoy spending time with Jon and Dmitrij to create light painting scenes that are unique and colourful to the eye.”

Dmitrij and Jon are also Essex-based photographers, who enjoy similar style astrophotography and light-based pictures.

Dmitrij used to be a keen sportsman, but could not pursue it further due to injuries so turned to photography.

Jon is a service engineer who has been doing photography for four years and astrophotography for three, all around Essex and Suffolk.

The trio got together at the Chappel Viaduct and lit it in Ukraine’s blue and yellow colours.

Danny said: “The idea was created by the three of us doing light painting which is a form of photography using light sources.

“The idea was to create a Ukraine flag by lighting up the Chappel viaduct arches in yellow and blue to raise awareness.

“We all came to an agreement that whatever funds are raised through these photos would be given to a charity of our choosing.”

The trio have been selling the photos through social and online media, with all the processes being donated to the British Red Cross charity to help with the current crisis.

Prints are available for £10 at A4 size.
