A FURRY friend is in need of a new home after progressing well with his confidence at an animal shelter.

Ferrell, a five-year-old feline, is at Danaher’s Animal Shelter in Wethersfield, waiting for a home.

The domestic short hair arrived at the home in January after being found as a stray.

He was very frightened and shy, having to settle in slowly and get used to his surroundings and his carers.

However, he has made plenty of progress and is now not as nervous, accepting some attention and love from the animal handlers.

Ferrell is looking to live with children who are 16 or older, and to be the only pet in the household.

A spokesman for Danaher said: “Ferrell is a bit hand shy and will need someone with an understanding that he is going to need a slow approach and who will take a bit of time to earn his trust.

“Once you have earned his trust and he feels settled he will become a really lovely addition to the home and a lovely companion.

“Ferrell just needs someone who will offer him lots of love and cuddles, but also to be patient as it will take him time to settle.”
