A THIEF had to pay a large compensation fee after a string of thefts in Essex.
Justin Green, 50, of Upton Close, Colchester, admitted to three charges of theft when he appeared in Basildon Magistrates Court on February 8.

Green admitted to theft from two shops in Colchester and one in Halstead, where he took a variety of alcoholic products.
He was ordered to pay a compensation fee of £421.49.
