A DOG is now looking for a foster home after struggling with life at an animal shelter.

Judy, aged eight, is looking for temporary foster parents while she continues to look for a permanent home.

Originally rescued by the RSPCA in December, she was previously rehomed, but returned to Danaher Animal Shelter in Wethersfield and is struggling to find a permanent home.

A typical Staffy, Judy is described by Danaher staff as a sweet dog who is full of life and energy, despite her age and arthritis in her legs.

She does struggle with stairs and needs to be the only dog in the home as she is not comfortable around other pooches.

Judy is also on a joint supplement and neurological tablets to aid her condition, and Danaher recommends it is continued in her new home to keep her comfortable.

A spokesman said: “Judy’s ideal home would be an adult-only home that can provide her with stability and a good routine.

“Judy is happiest when she has a routine and she can predict her day.

"A good routine should include similar walking and feeding times daily, as well as similar owner working hours.

“We are also looking for owners with Staffordshire bull terrier experience who understand exactly what Judy is all about and needs

“She is still struggling to find a new home and isn’t doing well in kennels and deserves some home comforts and a spot on a sofa.

“We are looking for a foster home to provide some relief from kennels whilst we continue our search for a more permanent home”.
