A MAN in his 90s was attacked in broad daylight outside a pub before having his wallet stolen.
Essex Police have launched an investigation after receiving reports an elderly man was assaulted during a robbery in Southchurch Boulevard, Southend.
He fell victim to the vicious attack outside The Old Walnut Tree, between 12pm and 1pm on December 29 and also had his wallet snatched.
The incident took place by a portacabin located in the car park where Christmas trees had been sold from ahead of the festive period
The attacker has been described as white, in their 40s or 50s and with dark hair.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We need anyone who saw anything or has any CCTV, dash cam or doorbell footage to contact us.
