THE number of coronavirus patients being treated in hospital by the Mid and South Essex NHS Trust had dropped to 78 as of Tuesday, figures show.
NHS England data shows the number of people being treated in hospital for Covid-19 n November 30 was down from 93 on the same day the previous week.
The number of beds at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust occupied by people who tested positive for Covid-19 fell by 46 in the last four weeks – 28 days ago, there were 124.
Across England there were 6,123 people in hospital with Covid as of November 30, with 806 of them in mechanical ventilation beds.
The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalised nationally has decreased by 18 per cent in the last four weeks, and the number on mechanical ventilators was down by six per cent.
The figures also show that 85 new Covid patients were admitted to hospital in Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust in the week to November 28. That was up from 75 in the previous seven days.
The East Suffolk and North Essex Trust, which runs Colchester and Ipswich hospitals, was caring for 63 coronavirus patients as of Tuesday – up from 59 on the same day the previous week.
The number of beds at occupied by people who tested positive for Covid-19 has decreased by 30 from 93.
