WANNABE detectives will get the chance to test their skills as a historic castle hosts a murder mystery evening

Visitors can look forward to immersing themselves at a planned murder mystery event at Hedingham Castle.

Coming on March 11 next year, the event will kick off at 7pm.

It promises to be an intriguing evening, particularly to aspiring sleuths with visitors being tasks to solve a murder mystery at the the atmospheric 900-year-old keep.

The event asks visitors to attend in period 1920s clothing, although this is not obligatory.

The crowd will be a mix of visitors and actors with the story playing out over dinner.

The cast will then be questioned before guest can make their accusations.

The event will include drinks, a full three-course meal as well as a disco and will come to a close at midnight.

A spokesman for Hedingham Castle said: "Delve into the world of murder, plot twists and suspense in this unique and thrilling evening of entertainment.

"Professional actors will mingle with guests and develop the plot over an elegant three-course dinner in the historic Tapestry Room of Hedingham Castle.

"As events unfold, use your detective skills to solve the clues and identify the murderer.

"The suspects will be cross-examined over coffee before guests are asked to give their theories and the killer is revealed.

"The most exciting dinner you will ever have. Continue the evening with drinks and dancing until midnight."

The castle say the event is strictly for over 18s only and its sadly not wheelchair friendly due to the castle containing spiral staircases and no lifts.

Tickets cost £75 per person and are available on the castle's website.
