STARS of EastEnders have been spotted filming in St Osyth.

Cast and crew were seen filming the soap opera on the beach near The Sailor Boy, in Beach Road, Seawick, on Monday morning.

Jessie Wallace, who plays Kat Slater, and Letitia Dean, who plays Sharon Watts, were both spotted in the village and it is believed Phil Mitchell actor Steve McFadden was also filming.

Richard Gray, from Clacton, captured a shot of the action taking place.

He said: "I was just out for a walk and saw all the trucks and vans on the field and wondered what was going on.

"There were a lot of people about in hi-vis and a lot of extras hanging about.

"I was even asked by a policeman to wait for a moment as they were actually filming."

"There was only a few other members of the public about."

Halstead Gazette:

It's not the first time the stars of the small screen have swapped Albert Square for the Tendring coast.

Pam St Clement, who played Pat Butcher, made two visits - first when looking for errant husband Frank in 1994.

She then returned to film Christmas episodes of the BBC show in October 2011.
