HEALTH bosses have confirmed a new super surgery in a village will retain current staff.

OneMedical Group has submitted plans to build a new medical centre in Sible Hedingham.

The group has been tasked by Braintree Council to build the new facility at Osier Way and developers hope to complete the project by April 2023.

The new building will be capable of providing care to 10,000 patients in the Hedingham area and surrounding villages.

The group has been working with the current Hedingham Medical Centre team and the Mid Essex Clinical Commissioning Group to design the two-storey building.

OneMedical Group says patients will be able to retain their current doctor.

The existing medical staff and team of doctors at Hedingham Medical Centre will run the facility and provide NHS services following their move to the new building.

OneMedical Property, the founding arm and Property division of OneMedical Group, is the scheme developer and will be the new landlord once the building is complete.

In addition, OneMedical Property will be looking after the Hedingham Medical Centre, the tenant and service provider of the GP surgery, to continue providing new and improved services based on the development.

The Hedingham Medical Centre team currently work from Falcon Square in Castle Hedingham, Hilton House in Sible Hedingham, and Bridge Street in Great Yeldham but will relocate to the new centre.

OneMedical property director Rachel Beverley-Stevenson said: “We are delighted to be working closely with the team at Hedingham Medical Centre to build a state-of-the-art facility for their patients and community.

“We are experienced healthcare landlords who work with GP partners using our extensive knowledge of NHS care delivery to make sure each of the buildings reflects and responds to the local population’s health and social care needs.”

Dr Ruth Silcox, Senior Partner at Hedingham Medical Centre, added: ''We are delighted to be working on the development of the Medical Centre with OneMedical Property and look forward to providing new and improved Primary Care services within a new facility.

"The same GPs, Nurses and clinical and administrative teams at Hedingham Medical Centre will run the centre following the move to the new building as tenants.

"Once the three sites move to the new modern and easily accessible location, we will provide a modern clinical environment and a more enjoyable experience for patients, visitors and staff.

"During the build, the Hedingham Medical Centre team will operate as usual from our two sites in Castle and Sible Hedingham'.'
