A BID to build a new medical centre are moving forward after plans were submitted to council planners.

Developers OneMedical Group, who were assigned by Braintree Council, are taking steps to deliver the proposed medical centre in Sible Hedingham.

A planning application was submitted to Braintree Council on Wednesday, October 13 which gives a more detailed look at the proposals.

The developers are looking for permission from council's planning committee to build on the site off Osier Way in the village.

It is hoped the centre will be able to provide care for around 10,000 residents and the goal would be to complete the project by 2023.

OneMedical Group are set to undertake the building's construction but will also be in charge of running the facility once it opens.

According to the plans submitted to Braintree Council, the new two storey centre will offer parking for roughly 44 vehicles.

35 of these will be for the medical centre while the other nine will be for the neighbouring Work Hub.

The plans add that the "proposed building will include eleven Clinical Rooms, with a large waiting area and reception, dispensary, utility and storage space, staff room, accessible WC facilities and office spaces."

OneMedical Group have been approached for comment.
