The Times has just revealed its top 100 hotels in the UK along with its national winner.

The list ranks hotels from across the country from the Scottish Highlands to luxury escapes on the Cornwall coast.

Seven Cornish hotels have been recognised in this year's rankings.

The Esplanade Hotel

The Esplanade in Newquay is a staple of the North Cornish coast. 

It was renovated during Lockdown and it's not surprising to see the newly refurbished interior has earned it a four-star AA rating. 

28 of the hotel's nautical-themed rooms look out onto Fistral Beach and it doesn't get much better than that.

The Headland Hotel & Spa

Situated on an iconic clifftop overlooking Fistral Beach, the Headland Hotel is widely recognised as Newquay's grandest hotel.

The grade II listed building has grand sweeping staircases and dramatic views of the Atlantic.

The hotel even hosted a hot air balloon this week which gave guests an extra special view of the Cornish coast.

Coombeshead Farm

Set amongst the Cornish countryside, Coombeshead Farm is a guesthouse and restaurant as well as a working farm. 

The charming restored dairy farm is co-owned by Tom Adams, whose London Restaurant Pitt Cue Co led to us stuffing our faces with pulled pork in 2011.

The farm offers "glorious isolation- and farmhouse comforts" in the heart of rural Cornwall.

Watergate Bay Hotel

The Watergate Bay Hotel was opened 17 years ago by owner and chief executive Will Ashworth.

Almost two decades later, the hotel has become integral to the community hosting this year's Caravan & Motorhome Club English National Surfing Championships with Surfing England.

Oceanside Hotel

The lifestyle-driven hotel is "THE place to hang out and soak up the ocean-infused, salty vibes" in Newquay, according to Oceanside.

Situated in Cornwall's surf capital, the hotel only opened in May but is already making waves.

The Pig at Harlyn Bay Inn

This grade II listed mansion combines luxury and country in one neat package at Padstow. 

The Pig Hotel chain (which also owns properties in Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Hampshire, Kent and Sussex) tell customers to expect "nautical nostalgia, moody tones and seaside vibes".
