A SCHOOL hopes to produce the stars of the future after teaming up with a leading sports brand.

Gosfield School has joined forces with Grays International, which supplies rugby, hockey, cricket and netball equipment.

The move gives the school prestigious flagship status.

International sporting ambassadors will help inspire pupils, who will also get the chance to see them in action at events.

Headteacher Rod Jackson said it was “one of the most exciting” developments in the school’s history and would take sport there to “new heights”.

“For over 90 years, Gosfield School has placed sporting excellence at the heart of its unique approach to a completely holistic education which maps out a journey for each child which is as individual as they are,” he said.

“At Gosfield we aspire to nothing less than a national reputation for sporting excellence.

“At Gosfield we believe that our pupils have the talent, the desire and the commitment to become the sporting stars of tomorrow.”

Grays International’s Carl Bailey said: “From bringing into the school sporting international ambassadors from the world of netball, hockey, rugby and cricket, we aim to inspire the pupils of the school through Q&A appearances, unique training sessions and then to offer pupils the chance to see these sportswomen and men in action at stadiums and sporting events.”
