A NEW scenic film showcasing some of the best views from Southend is set to be shared on a top video website.
Various organisations and clubs came together for the filming at Thames Estuary Yacht Club on Southend seafront on Tuesday.
DJ Dan Gurner and PR firm owner Richard Ellegard came up with the idea of the film showing off the best views and sunsets in Southend.
Mr Gurner said the pair have worked as DJs together on the radio and in nightclubs and took inspiration from other similar videos online.
He said: “With Project Sunset we wanted to show the nice views, nice parts of Southend and nice sunsets too.
“We had to get permission for music to avoid any copyright issues and worked with record labels Boomtick and Meliodika.
“We had 70 paddleboarders from a club called Blue Therapy and when I put out calls for people to take part I was surprised by the massive response.
“We were also surprised with the weather as it’s been so unpredictable and the storm calmed just in time.”
The DJ said it went really well and he hopes to have it shown on YouTube in about a month’s time.
He said the film is about one hour and 40 minutes long and showcases a lovely sunset and evening along the coast of Southend and surrounding areas.
