DRIVERS can expect delays as water bosses prepare to carry out two weeks of roadworks.
Essex Highways has revealed a village road will close from next week.
Anglian Water will shut a stretch of Sudbury Road in Castle Hedingham to install a new connection.
Work will start on Sunday, August 1 and the road will remain closed for two weeks until August 15.
The road will close from its junction with Great Maplestead Road for 230 metres.
An Essex Highways spokesman said: “The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water. Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.”
While the road is closed, drivers can use Gestingthorpe Road to bypass the works.
