A HALSTEAD building society has said it will continue to enforce Covid procedures despite the recent lifting of restrictions.

The Government lifting the majority of the remaining Covid restrictions on Monday.

Businesses and venues can now accommodate as many customers as they like.

Social distancing and wearing a mask indoors is also no longer compulsory.

But a building society in Halstead has said it will continue to enact Covid procedures in a bid to keep its customers safe.

The Saffron Building Society on the High Street will keep the rules in place to ensure the wellbeing of its staff as well.

Rules and procedures like social distancing, masks, screens and staff reductions will sill be in place.

Amber Carr, Branch Manager at Saffron Building Society said: “Although the restrictions are being removed from government guidance and becoming advisory, we understand that our members are still wary about the removal of face coverings and social distancing whilst inside.

"Many of our regular visitors are generally older and more at risk, so we feel that it is only right to continue as we are and keep it under constant review.

"It’s more than money, this is about the physical and mental health of the people in our communities and our staff as we navigate out of the pandemic.”

A consistent review is in place and procedures will be removed when deemed appropriate and safe.
