Drivers can expect delays as a residential street prepares to close in Halstead.

Ronald Road is due to close for roadworks today.

It comes after the road has already seen road closures since Sunday by Anglian Water.

The water works are set to finish tomorrow.

But, while those works only closed a short section of the street from Lock Road, the second set of works by Essex County Council will run the length of the road from White Horse Avenue to Tidings Hill.

The road will be closed for five days and won’t reopen until Monday.

An Essex Highways spokesman said: “The closure is scheduled to commence on June 10 for five days.

“The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

“An alternative route is available via White Horse Avenue, Tidings Hill and vice versa.

“Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.”
