Watford and Millwall will face off in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday in a game that could see the Hornets promoted to the Premier League.

The Hornets will win automatic promotion with victory at Vicarage Road tomorrow, ensuring an immediate return to the top flight after their relegation last season.

Watford must win to ensure they keep the Championship title race alive, otherwise victory for Norwich at QPR will see them crowned champions.

Bournemouth and Brentford contest the early kick-off on Saturday and both know they must win if they are to keep alive their faint hopes of catching second-placed Watford.

What will the weather be like?

By the time the game begins at 3pm, the Met Office says temperatures will have reached its 15 degrees peak which will last with clear skies until around 5pm.

By 6pm some clouds will appear and the temperature will begin to slowly plummet.

What has the manager said?

Xisco Munoz says he cannot wait to get his chance to seal Watford’s return to the Premier League and is looking forward to enjoying the day as much as he can.

“I want Saturday morning right now,” said Munoz. “The most important is we know what is our responsibility for this game but I want to enjoy this situation because we’ve worked very hard.

“The players have worked very hard and everyone behind me has worked very hard for this moment.

“The fans enjoy the situation because everyone gives their support, always. In the bad moments and the good moments and we need to enjoy it. We need to enjoy this moment because we want this situation and after we’ll see what happens.”

Fans urged to behave responsibly

If Watford can secure promotion, the pandemic inevitably means celebrations will be subdued, with restrictions still in place to stop large gatherings and close contact.

However, ahead of the big day, Watford's chief inspector has released a statement reminding fans of the "importance" of behaving responsibly.

Chief Inspector Ian Grout said: "We completely understand fans' desire to mark the occasion should Watford be promoted to the Premier League and as a Hornets fan myself I will be celebrating the club’s achievement too.

"I have been working with the constabulary’s events planning team and as a result we have allocated resources, including extra officers from our safer neighbourhood teams, for reassurance.

"We are also liaising closely with our partners at both the club and Watford Borough Council to ensure the safety of all fans and the public ahead of the weekend.

"I would ask all fans to consider the current climate and also the importance of continuing to recognise the measures that are in place to stop the spread of coronavirus.

"We have worked so hard with partners over the past year to reduce infections in Watford and we want to do all we can to build on the current downward trend and work towards the next roadmap dates of May 17 and eventually, June 21."
