FIVE areas in and around Halstead have Covid infection rates above the national average, latest figures have shown.
In England the infection rate is 107.8 cases per 100,000 people.
Across the Braintree district as a whole the figures for the seven days to February 23 show an infection rate of 84.5 cases per 100,000 people.
A further 129 cases were also recorded in the seven days.
A map also shows the infection rate in each part of the district and how much it has changed in a week.
It shows three areas have infection rates higher than the national average.
Marks Tey and Wakes Colne has the highest with an infection rate of 265.3 for the seven days up to February 23.
The area had 23 cases confirmed in that time.
The Bocking, Churchstreet and Blackwater area is also above the national average at 183.2 with 17 confirmed cases.
Silver End and Stisted is also above average at 116.0 and 12 cases confirmed.
Also on the list is Halstead Central and West with an infection rate of 140 and 12 cases confirmed.
The final area with a higher infection rate is Coggeshall and Kelvedon at 112.9 and 12 new cases.
In Panfield, Finchingfield and Bardfield the rate is surpressed meaning there were fewer than three cases in the last seven days.
This is also the case in Bocking.
