A FITNESS-MAD mum is hoping to turn her lockdown hobby of keeping residents fit into a job after launching her own website.

Jade Gooding, from Great Maplestead, first launched a YouTube channel last January which offered free Pilates and yoga instructional videos for her students at the Essex Golf and Country Club in Earls Colne where she works as a dance and fitness instructor.

However, after the arrival of the pandemic and lockdown, Jade decided to put more time into the channel to make videos to keep residents physically and mentally fit.

Uploading one or two videos a week, Jade saw her channel grow from 100 subscribers to now more than 900.

While being in the fitness industry for more than 14 years, Jade became interested in Pilates after it helped her recover from a horror injury to her knees where she tore her cruciate ligaments, requiring surgery.

Since starting her channel, Jade has been invited to teach twice on the RWL – Results, Wellness, Lifestyle – fitness app launched by Towie TV personality Lucy Mecklenburgh

Now the mother of two is hoping to turn her lockdown hobby in to a money-spinner by launching her very own fitness class website.

Jade said: “I have been blown away by the response.

“The YouTube channel has grown to over 900 subscribers and I have even been invited to teach twice on the RWL app. I have since launched my own website where members can sign up for live classes for only £8.99 a month.

“As a single mum of two who has worked in the fitness industry my whole career, I needed to find another way to keep in work during these difficult times.

“I was not prepared to change career as I am so passionate about what I do, so I had to find another way.

“I didn’t want to charge people an extortionate amount of money either as I know it is such a hard time for everyone.

“Now more than ever, I just want to help people smile.”
