ESSEX Police are searching for witnesses following an incident which saw three deer killed.

Officers with the Essex Police Rural Engagement Team attended an incident yesterday in Great Yeldham.

The team arrived in the area of Little Yeldham Road to find three deer had been shot and killed.

Police say it is believed the incident took place between 2pm and 4pm on Sunday 3 January.

Now officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The Essex Police Rural Engagement Team tweeted: "The team have attended an incident in which three deer have been shot and killed.

"We are appealing for witnesses who may have seen anyone or vehicles in the area of Little Yeldham Rd in Great Yeldham on 03/01/21 between 14:00-16:00.
