A cricket club is delighted to have been chosen to benefit from the Co-op local community fund.
The funding has come at a time when access to money like this is becoming difficult for groups like Wigton Cricket Club.
The cash boost will help the club to continue its work in the community.
The cricket club aims to engage all parts of the community, regardless of age and gender, in physical sporting activity and an appreciation of the game of cricket.
A spokesman for the club said: “A huge thank you to Co-op and all of you lovely people out there for using us as one of the community causes.
“ We have been lucky enough to raise a whopping £3,744.43 Thank you.
“With everything going on this year, it is really heartwarming to see all of our community coming together and supporting each other.
“You’re all stars! Sending you actual love.”
