THIRTY eight new coronavirus cases were reported in Basingstoke and Deane yesterday, it has been confirmed.
It means that a total of 182 people tested positive for the virus in the seven days to Sunday, November 22, according to government data.
The number of people testing positive has fallen in recent days, with that figure more than a third lower than the week before.
However, the number of deaths is increasing in the borough.
Five people were reported to have died within 28 days of a positive Covid-19 test on Sunday.
In the last week, 10 people have passed away after testing positive - an increase of 150 per cent on the week before.
On Saturday, The Gazette revealed how Winklebury & Rooksdown was the coronavirus hotspot in the borough, with 24 new cases recorded within a week and a rolling rate higher than the national average.
