THE firm which runs leisure centres across the district is running free exercise classes online.

Fusion Lifestyle says it is offering the virtual workouts to all residents to help keep them active during the lockdown.

The classes include yoga, freestyle combat, mature stretch and even gentle postural fitness - activities aimed at residents working from home.

Members at Fusion's leisure centres in Braintree, Witham and Halstead can also access an online platform which provides mental wellbeing activities, nutrition guides and special offers from fitness providers.

Director of operations Anthony Cawley said: "There has never been a more important time to look after the health and wellbeing of our communities and we want to make sure our members and local residents have the opportunity to benefit from our expert led classes while our centres are closed.

"The offers and additional activities we are supplying to our members will help them keep active both physically and mentally."

Braintree Council, which works with Fusion to run leisure facilities in the district says it hopes the online classes will help residents struggling to stay active during the lockdown.

Health and wellbeing boss Peter Tattersley said: “We want to help our residents keep active and healthy at this difficult time and the programme Fusion is providing offers something for everyone, whether they are a Fusion member or not.

"We hope everyone enjoys taking part and feels better for it as well.”
