A "NASTY fight" brought traffic on a Bradford road to a "standstill" this morning, after police were called out to an altercation between a group of women.

There were reports of a fight on Norman Lane, Five Lane Ends just before 9am today, with one passer-by claiming that a woman was "punched, kicked in the head and repeatedly beaten by several other women."

The passer-by said the "nasty fight" happened in the middle of the road, bringing traffic to a halt, after some women "leapt" out of two cars. 

The incident was reported to police, who say that enquiries are ongoing.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at 8.59am on Monday 19 October to reports of a concern for the safety of a woman.

"There were reports of an altercation between a group of women and another woman on Norman Lane in Bradford.

"The suspects fled the scene in cars and the female victim reportedly walked away from the scene.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any further information, is asked to contact the police via 101, quoting log number 362 of 19 October."
