POLICE have arrested a man after managed to evade officers for more than a month.

Gary Jolly, 41, from Haverhill has finally been arrested after police issued a warrant for his arrest last month.

Mr Jolly was wanted by Suffolk Police on recall to prison and for breaching of a court order.

The Haverhill man also had ties to Ashen in north Essex.

However, police finally tracked Mr Jolly down to Braintree where he was arrested on Tuesday 6 October after being wanted since at September 9.

Suffolk Police put out multiple appeals for residents to help aid them in finding Mr Jolly.

Officers have thanked residents for their help.

A Suffolk Police spokesman said: "Police have arrested a 41-year-old man from the Haverhill area who was wanted.

"Gary Jolly was wanted on recall to prison and for breaching of a court order.

"He was arrested on Tuesday 6 October in Braintree in Essex and has now been transferred to the prison system.

"Police would like to thank the media and public for their help with this matter."
