A TEENAGER suffered stab wounds to his leg and arm after an attack outside the Toothill Tesco.

The stabbing victim was rushed to Great Western Hospital by ambulance to receive treatment for his injuries.

Police raced to the village centre around 1.10pm to investigate the incident and spent the afternoon carrying out their enquiries on nearby streets.

A Wiltshire Police spokeswoman said: "Officers were called to a disorder outside Tesco in Toothill village centre, Swindon, at approximately 1.10pm.

An 18-year-old man is believed to have sustained stab wounds to his leg and arm. He has been taken to the Great Western Hospital by ambulance.

"Officers conducted extensive enquiries at the scene. Anyone who witnessed the incident should call 101 and quote log number 147 of Thursday."

This is far from the first time that police have been called to a stabbing in the area. In August, a man was slashed in the neck and hit over the head in a Crawford Close flat.

In July, a 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man suffered what police called potentially life-changing injuries after an attacker on Affleck Close sliced the girl's hand and injured the man's face, causing grievous bodily harm.

In May, a man was stabbed twice in the back and twice in the arm in Beaulieu Close.
