A SOCIAL club in Orford has closed after staff members tested positive for Covid-19.
The Tetley Walker Sports and Social Club, on Long Lane, is shut for a 72-hour period on the advice of Warrington Borough Council following the confirmation of coronavirus cases.
In a statement posted on its Facebook page, the club said: “As some of you may have heard, our steward and stewardess have tested positive for Covid-19 – we wish them a speedy recovery and will see them soon.
“We have contacted all the relevant authorities and will be following all advice strictly, we will be closing the club for 72 hours following council advice.
“During this time we will be conducting a deep clean.
"We would just like to say thank you for all the get well messages, they really do appreciate it.
"The cleaning company has made a start on the deep cleaning - all surfaces are being thoroughly cleaned to make sure the club is as safe as possible for your return."
