Officers from the Metropolitan Police are appealing for information after a teenager was found stabbed on a street in Mitcham in the early hours of Saturday morning (September 19).

Earlier today a spokesperson for the Met Police in Merton tweeted a short statement confirming they had found the teen — an 18-year-old male — suffering from stab wounds after being called in the moments after 1am on Saturday morning.

"Called 0133hrs to Rowan Road #Mitcham following reports of a stabbing.

"18 year-old male found with stab injuries - assessed as not life-threatening," the Met Police spokesperson said.

"No arrests at this stage; crime scene in place & enquiries ongoing," they added, confirming that an investigation into the stabbing had been launched without yielding any arrests so far

Police are now appealing directly to the public to help with their investigation into what happened.
