"TWO Down, three to go!"
An NHS worker who has set herself the challenge of completing five sprint triathlons in a week to raise funds for Nightingale House is well on her way.
Helen Massey, from Wrexham, began her first triathlon at Hope Lake on Saturday morning.
After the swim, Helen began the cycling stretch of the challenge
After the 750 metre lake swim, the 58-year-old hopped on her bike for a 12 mile cycle from Hope to Wrexham and back, before rounding off the challenge with a five a 5km run around the park.
That would be enough for most people, but Helen has set herself the task of repeating it all four more times - with just one day to recuperate between each triathlon.
All while continuing to do her shifts with the Enhanced Community Residential Services in Deeside.
Helen at Hope Lake on Saturday
After completing the second triathlon today, Helen said: "The first one was as good as the one this morning. I was a bit nervous at first, but the swims, cycling and runs have gone really well.
"The swim in the lake was quicker on the second day, but where I thought the cycle and run were quicker to they weren't. I was a bit gutted really. I don't know why, but I'll work on that on Wednesday.
"It is easier as I get on, I think the third one will be easier again, I'm getting more relaxed and enjoying it more. I can't wait for Wednesday now to do the next one."
