A MAN has been taken to hospital following an incident in Halstead.

Witnesses reported seeing ambulance teams and incident response units at the old Savoy Cinema in Trinity Street, Halstead yesterday.

It has been confirmed that a man suffered a fall requiring emergency medical attention.

It is believed the man was conducting construction and building work at the cinema at the time.

Hazardous area response team vehicles were also present.

The man was then taken to Colchester General Hospital for treatment.

An East of England Ambulance Service Trust (EEAST) spokesman said: "We were called to Trinity Street in Halstead at around 11.15am yesterday (2 June) following reports that a man had been injured in a fall.

"We sent a rapid response vehicle, ambulance and two hazardous area response team vehicles.

"Crews treated the man at the scene before transporting him to Colchester General Hospital for further assessment and care."

The circumstances surrounding the accident and the current status of the man are currently unknown.
