A HALSTEAD bakery is set to sell its goods across the UK after securing a deal with a top supermarket chain.

Davina Steel, in Halstead, has struck a deal to supply more than 150 Waitrose stores.

The business is the only gluten-free bakery in East Anglia and will supply the upmarket supermarket with its gluten-free baking kits, pizza mix and garlic and rosemary focaccia.

Bakery co-founder Davina Steel said: “This is a huge achievement for us as a brand.

“We’re absolutely delighted to have secured this contract with Waitrose, which is a perfect fit for us.

“Making gluten-free bakes is particularly challenging and we’re seeing a growing demand for our kits. We hope Waitrose customers enjoy them.”

Waitrose stores started selling the Davina Steel products from Monday, May 11.

This is the bakery’s fourth major deal, having secured deals with the Co-op, Ocado and Sainsbury’s since it launched its range in 2018.
