THE acoustic version of a popular music festival returns to Sible Hedingham this weekend.

Heditude Unplugged is a special winter version of the regular summer festival, which started in 2018.

Since Heditude began, the festivals have been raising funds for good causes,

including the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance, Hedinghams United Football Club and Help for Harry – a fundraiser to help a child diagnosed with Treacher Collin’s syndrome when he was born in 2014.

Heditude Unplugged promises to be a more “low key” affair with a smaller capacity and more intimate set-up.

Described as an acoustic “little indoor mini-festival”, the show was inspired by the success of Heditude’s acoustic tent during the summer festival.

Headlining the show are originals rock band Point Clear who made a big impression at last year’s outdoor festival.

This time the rockers will be leaving their amps at home to show off their acoustic skills on the main stage.

The four-piece play everything from indie rock to soul, blues and even swing.

Other acts originally announced include Americana band Hargreaves and singer-songwriter Gen Irving, who will be preforming songs from EPs Sad Songs And Sunsets and Gift From God.

Since then, even more names have been unveiled, such as folk duo False Colours, stellar cover band Beergut 100, jazz and soul singer Simone Perks accompanied by internationally acclaimed guitarist Tony Sanderman, along with jazz singer Brian Smith and R’n’B singer Amy Fennell.

With nine acts in total, a broad range of music styles and genres is promised across the line-up.

There will also be a busker’s pitch with a guitar in a corner of the room.

Organiser Chris Webb said: “We decided to launch Unplugged for a number of reasons.

“Obviously part of it is to raise more money for our causes but we’ve also started getting lots of local musicians interested in being part of Heditude and wanted to add some extra opportunities.

“As a rock musician, playing acoustically presents an interesting challenge.

“It’s back to basics, and you have to do a lot of things differently.”

Heditude Unplugged as at Ripper’s Hall at Hedingham Sports and Social Club tomorrow.

The events is free and starts at 4pm with the music playing until 10.30pm. For more details, visit heditude.org.
