POLICE have issued a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to after an incident at a Hampshire pub.

Officers are investigating after a female member of staff at the Golden Lion was injured and a charity box was stolen.

It happened on February 16 but details have only just been released.

A police spokesman said: "A man entered the pub just after 9am via the fire door and asked the female member of staff if he could use the toilet.

"Because the woman refused the man forced his way in, hitting her with the door, causing injuries to her face that required stitches.

"The man then proceeded to steal a glass charity jar which had been tied to the bar."

The CCTV image is of a man who is said to have been in the vicinity of the pub at around the time the incident took place.

He is described as white, about 6ft, and of medium build.

He was wearing glasses, a grey baseball cap, white T-shirt, navy or black hoody, a navy or black tracksuit and black and white shoes.

Anyone who can help police identify the man is asked to call 101 and quote incident number 44200059679.

Alternatively they can call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111, where messages can be left anonymously.
