A pharmacy has raised more than £1,000 for children's hospice care.

Borno Pharmacy on Newland Street, Witham donated 10p for each item they dispensed throughout December, raising a total of £1,087 for Little Havens.

Little Havens is a local charity who care for young people in Essex who have been diagnosed with complex and incurable conditions.

Each year, all 12 branches of the Borno Pharmacy choose a local charity to donate to.

Borno Pharmacy's media manager, Gemma Robb, said: "We are a community pharmacy who have a passion for supporting our local community, so this year we chose Little Havens so they can continue to provide specialist care and support to children and their families across Essex."

Havens Hospice community fundraiser, Zoe Jay said: "We are very grateful to the Borno Pharmacy in Witham for choosing to support Little Havens.

"Little Havens must raise over £40,000 a week to be there for everyone who needs us and this would not be possible without the amazing support of businesses like theirs- they are truly helping us continue to deliver our promise of 'Making every day count' for the children and families we care for."
