SOUTHEND United manager Sol Campbell is unsure when Stephen Humphrys will be back in action for Blues.

Humphrys broke his nose in the Shrimpers' 3-1 defeat at Doncaster at the end of January. And Campbell does not know when the forward will be fit enough to return.

"He needs to realign his nose and they will assess it from there," said Campbell.

"It could be two or three weeks but it could be six weeks.

"It will depend on the experts and surgeons and also him as well.He will have to think about whether he can play with a mask or if they will want to see if he has to wait six weeks.

"I’m not sure how it’s going to pan out with Humphrys but the sooner we can get him back the better it will be.

"He will have to decide with the surgeon and the specialists."

Humphrys also broke 15 bones in his face, including his nose, eye-socket and cheekbone, at Accrington last February.
