OBJECTIONS are flooding in over proposed plans for a new housing development in Earls Colne.

Agents, Bidwells, have submitted plans to develop 53 new homes on last to the north east of Station Road.

The development was validated on December 19 and would see the housing estate built opposite de Vere Road with a single junction connecting the development to Station Road.

Residents of Earls Colne, particularly on Station Road and de Vere Road, have are fervently protesting the application.

In an objection sent to the council, one resident said: "I as a resident feel this is an awful mistake to continually build houses here without the resources for the number of people who already reside here.

"Our roads cannot cope and I sit in traffic daily just to enter my own property.

"There is a two to four week wait for doctors appointments, sometimes longer.

"There is no availability for NHS dentists in the local area I already have to travel to Braintree and Colchester to see a dentist.

"The school has a forever growing waiting list for already existing children in the village too.

"The amount of trucks and lorries that damage and speed through the village with out any respect for the village is a growing concern also leaving rubbish and mud everywhere.

"We as villagers are not happy.

"We are a village and a lot of us live here because we like living in a village area, not a small town, and we would prefer it to stay that way."

Their frustration also comes following the Braintree Council Planning Committee's decision to approve a different application for 90 new homes in the same area.

The application put forward by Bellway Homes Limited was accepted by the planning committee and approved on September 27 last year.

The 90 home development is located on the west side of Station Road, right next to de Vere Road, and will be built right across the street from the proposed 53 homes

With such an influx of new housing, resident from the area have submitted objections to the council planning committee in their droves.
