MOTORISTS are warned about fairly severe delays on the A131 through Halstead.

Roadworks are soon to be underway on Trinity Street, running right through the centre of Halstead.

Temporary traffic signals have been put in place while maintenance is ongoing.

Essex Highways predict the roadworks and disruption will last until January 8th.

A Essex Highways spokesperson said:“This is work by Anglian Water to repair a pipe today for one or two days work just east of the Kings Rd roundabout and further down the road near Chapel Hill to replace three manhole covers in the road.

"In both cases the road will not be totally closed, but traffic will be controlled by temporary two-way lights.”

In the meantime, commuters are advised to plan their journeys with the potential delays in mind.
