POLICE and ambulance services were called to the scene of a crash in Farnworth this afternoon.
The crash happened around 4.30pm and involved one a vehicle which looked to have collided with a parked car.
It happened near the junction of Albert Road and Glynne Street and is said to be causing significant traffic problems.
However, there are not thought to have been any injuries.
A witness said: "There was a parked car and there was a car in the middle of the road that looks like it hit the back of the other.
"It was single file traffic and it's caused chaos here."
Police have confirmed that the crash involved a white Vauxhall Astra and a Chevrolet.
A GMP spokesman said: "We were called at 4.32pm to a report of a collision between a car and a parked car."
The road has now reopened although some further traffic is expected.
