SACRED Heart Catholic Primary School has appointed its very own head boy and girl to let students have their say.
Year six students recently had the opportunity to apply for the roles, even being formally interviewed by the head teacher.
Dylan Moran was appointed head boy and Lara Manait head girl.
Due to the high standard of applications, other pupils have been elected to support specific areas of the school, calling themselves the Senior Super Stars.
Colleen Everett, head teacher, said: "At Sacred Heart, we believe in the power of pupil voice and also recognise the importance of encouraging our children to accept responsibilities which will prepare them for later life.
"We were so impressed with the applications we received as it was very clear that all of the children had put a great deal of thought and effort in to their letter of application and preparation for interview.
"It was a very difficult decision but we were very happy with our choice of head girl and head boy and even more delighted with the unexpected formulation of our Senior Super Stars.
"I look forward to working with them all in the future to help make Sacred Heart even better."
