A STORMY week of weather meant some competitions were cancelled at Clacton Golf Club.

However, the club's juniors competed for the Janet Green Trophy and Henry Goodwin was victorious, with 36 points.

James Wright came second, with 35, and Milo Locke third, with 33.

The Swindle Cup was also held recently, with a dinner and prize presentation following the competition.

The overall winner of the Ted Hill Cup was Ashley Stein, with 41 points.

Dave Ashdown was second, with 38, on countback from Bob Hanks.

The Carol Finch team award went to Julia and Peter Hewett and Sean Stuttaford, with 82 points.

They were closely followed by Lee Hale, Steve Scott and Brian Williams, on 81.

The organisers of the Swindle, Fred Allerton, Bob Davidson and Kevin Hill, would like to thank everyone for their continued support and especially Swindle sponsors Thompson Smith and Puxon.

The men's September medal was held on Sunday.

In atrocious weather conditions, 48 brave players entered the competition.

In division one, Chris London took first place with nett 71.

In second was Damon Puril, with nett 73, on countback from Lee Hawkins.

Andrew Moore won division two with nett 73.

Robin Tucker was second, with nett 74, and Lee Bettis was third, on countback, with nett 75.
