A CONVENIENCE store in Carlisle is to reopen today after a £630,000 refurbishment.
The Co-op on Blackwell Road, Currock, has been closed since September 8 to allow builders to remove fixtures and fittings and transform the shop.
The revamped food store – which will run on 100 per cent renewable electricity – will also have a hot food counter, alongside food-to-go, wines and essentials.
Duncan Maurer, Co-op area manager, said: “We are delighted to have had the opportunity to make such a significant investment in our Blackwell Road store.
"Our aim is to establish our stores at the heart of local life, and make a difference in our communities.
"The store will have a great new look and range and the manager, Kerry McCue, and team look forward to welcoming customers back into the store, and to serve the community - it’s all about getting closer to our members and customers, providing what they want, need and care about, conveniently."
