GREEN-FINGERED growers got the chance to show off their prize-winning blooms and veg produce at Halstead Horticultural Society’s new-look show.
The annual dahlia and chrysanthemum
show and family afternoon was held at the Queen’s Hall on Saturday.
There were vegetables, plants, cookery, craft exhibitions, cake decorating and flower arranging, as well as children’s face-painting.
Councillor David Hume presented trophies and medals to the winners, which included shields for the best vegetable, potato and salad collections, and for the best children’s vegetable animal, before the produce was auctioned off.
