A WATERCOLOUR exhibition will be on display for the whole month.

Gosfield Gallery will host artist Atef Wissa and his collection entitled ‘Watercolour – wet in wet’ until September 30.

Mr Wissa said: “From an early age I had a love of drawing and colouring even at times I should have been paying attention to my studies.

“At university and during my 39 years working for the NHS, there was very little time for painting.

“Now I am retired, I have returned to my original love of drawing and painting.

“I attend the Writtle portrait group and Maldon art classes in addition to the Chelmsford Art Society.

“I was attracted to beautiful paintings full of vibrant colours, loose in style which look fresh in their simplicity.”

He added: “I took inspiration from the artist Charles Reid, a well-known American master painter.

“It was a great privilege to watch him painting and working alongside him in both Spain and Cornwall.”
