A MAN from Halstead who claimed he was assaulted by two teenagers with a knife has been charged for attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Christopher Wiseman, 37, of Mitchell Avenue, alleged he was injured while trying to defend himself from a knife attack in Chelmsford on January 24.
Two 17-year-old boys from Chelmsford were initially arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm, alongside a 15-year-old boy from Chelmsford who was detained on suspicion of casing grievous bodily harm.
After a lengthy investigation, however, the three suspects were eventually released without charge.
Christopher will now have to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on September 4.
