Halstead Public Gardens has been shortlisted for a top prize in a competition that aims to find the country’s best green space.

Brimming with colourful flowers that are beautifully maintained by Braintree District Council and the Friends of Halstead Public Garden, with some help from the dedicated In Bloom team, the gardens are a popular place for town events and is the go-to space for locals and visitors looking to peacefully while away the hours.

The picturesque gardens were nominated alongside 363 other gardens as part of the first stage of the Field’s In Trust's annual hunt for Britain’s best park, but now the public must decide the winner for each region by casting their vote online.

Once the voting has closed on August 19, the parks with the most votes will again be shortlisted, before an overall winner is decided in mid-September.
