AN annual fete will be officially opened this year by a famous author... and a children’s cartoon character.
Writer Nick Butterworth, best known for creating Percy the Park Keeper, and CBeebies star Q Pootle 5, will welcome visitors to Greenstead Green summer fete this Sunday
The family-fun day takes place from noon to 4pm and includes craft stalls, a tombola and raffle, entertainment and games.
Homemade cakes, doughnuts, Prosecco and other food and drink will also be available.
Profits from the fete will be split between St James’ Church and Green Watch.
Admission is free.
*CORRECTION: In today's paper we wrongly said the event was on Saturday. It is on Sunday.*
