A PAINTING which is being auctioned off to raise money for a life-saving charity is set to be exhibited at a shopping complex’s gallery for the rest of the month.

Artist Neil Higgs’ colourful masterpiece, entitled Ready To Respond, has been designed in aid of the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance and is currently on display at the gallery at Gosfield Shopping Village until the end of July.

The impressive action-packed artwork, which has been painted in oils, suitably depicts both the charity’s famous helicopters and ground vehicles at one of their bases at North Weald with the control tower in the background.

The stunning painting has also had the signatures of Neil himself, as well air ambulance trustees, executives, paramedics, doctors and pilots from the charity.

The 1000mm x 700mm painting’s inclusion in Gosfield Gallery’s summer exhibition comes as part of several pop-up events it has appeared at in a bid to generate interest in the online auction and hopefully more donations for the charity.

Neil said: "It feels great to see it up in a gallery on display.

"The painting will be at the gallery for the whole of July and people will get the chance to see it and speak with me about it.

"The reaction has been very positive, with passers-by making comments such as 'amazing', 'you should be proud of what you have done' and 'thank you for supporting the Essex & Herts air Ambulance.'"

Bidding for the work currently sits at £300 and the auction will run until September 15.
